Rachael Henson is a visual artist whose practice extends between the mediums of sculpture and photography. Her work combines elements from her upbringing in a multi-racial household in the suburbs of Dallas, with an interest in transience, the idea of the "other", and the uncanny.

Much of the work is expressed through a personal lens that aims to question the ways in which images or objects affect how our memories are perceived. From edible images that have taste profiles that are meant to elicit feelings, to jarring durian skins that are warm to the touch, the work is meant to be both repellent and inviting.

A variety of materials such as scents, agar, foam, silicone and wax, and glass are manipulated to evoke the senses, and straddle the lines between transience and permanence. Some of the materials, like the agar and scents are used because of their versatility as well as their personal meanings to her and her experiences of eastern and western culture.
